Norman is our Senior IT Manager, happy to assist you with any software or technical support assistance you may need.

Where did you grow up? Where did you go to school?

I was born in San Francisco and grew up in San Mateo. I went to high school at Aragon.

What sparked your interest in Science and computers?

When I grew up, there really weren’t computers as we know them today. In college, they were kind of a new thing and I got interested in how they worked purely just for college.  But afterward, I had a couple of friends that built computers so I started doing that as well. I liked to game on them but also needed them for work. As for science, I got into biology in high school. I had a good teacher and the sciences were interesting. When I got to college, it was natural to go with Genetics (it was new at the time) the first year Davis offered genetics as a major.

What is important to you personally? I.e.what things do you value most in life?

Enjoying life is the most important thing to me.

What are some of the challenges you have faced either in your career or personally that you feel have helped you become the successful person you are?

I’ve always tried to do things the hard way so I could figure out how things worked. I think that’s what’s helped me out the most.

What is your favorite Studylog feature?

I like that Studylog can take input directly from devices and input it into the system.

What do you like the most about being part of the Studylog team?

Everyone works together to get things accomplished. What do you do for fun?I play games both on the computer and tabletop. I also like woodworking, although I don’t get to do that a lot.
